MrQ is seeking an experienced Head of Data Platform to lead the design, development, maintenance and scalability of our future data infrastructure. This role is crucial in enabling data-driven decision-making, powering self service analytics and business insight into marketing, operations and product.

You will own the full data platform strategy: from ingestion and modelling to orchestration and business intelligence delivery.

What You Will Do

• Leadership & Strategy: Define and drive the data platform vision aligned with business goals. Build and mentor the data team while promoting a data-driven culture.
• Data Operations: Establish a centralised service desk for data requests. Implement SLAs, streamline workflows, and use insights to improve data processes and automation.
• Infrastructure & Architecture: Manage scalable data infrastructure (BigQuery, Airflow, dbt). Ensure systems support real-time data, ML, and analytics needs.
• Data Modelling & Governance Enforce high standards for data quality, modelling, and compliance. Drive documentation, lineage, and governance practices.
• BI & Analytics Enablement: Lead BI platform delivery (ThoughtSpot), build reusable models, and support self-serve analytics across teams.
• Cloud Platform Management: Optimise cloud resources (GCP, AWS), embed observability, and evaluate new tech for efficiency and scalability.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform management, or architecture, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in the iGaming, entertainment, or high-traffic consumer industry.
• Deep expertise with SQL (BigQuery or equivalent) and at least one major cloud platform (GCP or AWS).
• Strong proficiency in Airflow,and dbt and knowledge of 3rd party tools (AirByte) including orchestration, dependency management, and CI/CD practices.
• Extensive experience in data modelling, schema design, and cloud warehousing.
• Hands-on exposure to BI tools such as ThoughtSpot, Looker, or Tableau.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — able to translate technical strategy and reporting requirements into business impact.
• Strong understanding of data privacy and data protection relevant to GDPR and regulated industries.
